Parade Lap is the product of a lifetime spent behind the wheel, under the hood, and at the racetrack. The mission of Parade Lap is to celebrate motorsport and preserve speed culture by curating decades of automotive provenance and immortalizing it with captivating collections and content suited for a new generation of car nuts.
At a time where few people embrace sleepless nights watching the 24 Hours of Daytona or Le Mans, Parade Lap is committed to bringing the fire back to a new wave of auto enthusiasts while reflecting on the halcyon days of racing and automotive innovation. This site is for the people who grew up with a 911 in the garage and for the people who grew up peering through a neighbor’s garage window to catch a glimpse of one. We connect with the kids that grew up shifting with their left hand from the passenger seat and the renegades that feel more comfortable in a racing harness than in the backseat of an Uber.
There is truly something special about identifying as a car person. It is a culture that is second nature for those immersed in it and so dramatically foreign to those outside of it. We speak in liters, ratios, and body styles because it's all we have ever known. Take a minute and think about what car changed your life forever. Think about what life was like before engines and going fast mattered – I bet you can’t. This is what makes speed culture amazing. No matter where life takes people there will always be that obsession with speed and the freedom of tearing up an open road in your car.
There is a common gear that drives us all, and Parade Lap is here to celebrate it. Thank you for visiting the site and supporting my work.
Sincerely,
Ben McDonald
